Forest Walks Lodge

A bedroom at Forest Walks LodgeForest Walks Lodge is a seculded, wilderness lodge situated on the edge of Tasmania’s World Heritage Area, a short drive from Deloraine, in Northern Tasmania. The Lodge offers multiple, quality experiences, including bush walking, fly fishing and bird watching, all expertly interpreted by professional guides. Nature lovers stay in a simpathetically designed and spectacularly located, eco lodge, close to the mountains.

The eco lodge is surrounded by mountains and wild forest and is sited on the banks of a small stream with adjacent wetlands, which provide an opportunity for walkers to observe birds and wildlife in their natural habitat. Raptor species and many wrens, robins and honeyeaters are regularly seen. Quolls, possums, echidnas, platypus and pademelons are indigenous or seasonal residents.

A Flame RobinThe contemporary-style, timber eco lodge is sympathetically designed and tastefully decorated with locally, handwoven rugs and art work. Three spacious en-suite rooms, double or twin, are available for a minimum of two-night stays Meals are offered in-house, using local or organic ingredients and a range of diets are offered. Communal 3 course meals provide a convivial and intimate atmosphere, for guests to exchange ideas and experiences.

Guided walks, to suit all levels of fitness, depart daily with interpretation of Tasmania’s unique, forest environment, given by Sean, your professional ecologist and host. The nearby stream, with an abundance of brown trout, is challenging for the most experienced of fly fishermen and both basic and advanced tuition is provided. Book an inclusive package of two or three nights, with optional meals and walks, to gain the maximum enjoyment from this unique wilderness experience.
