Discover North West Tasmania is an independent travel guide to North West Tasmania. We are a small Australian editorial team that builds practical, plain-English planning guides for places we think deserve better information than a brochure or a list of ads.
What we do
We write the guide we would want before a trip: how to get there, how long to allow, what is genuinely worth your time, where the trade-offs are, and which tours make sense if you do not want to drive. Every page is written for a real planning question, and we keep pages short where a short answer is the honest one.
How we research
Our guides are built from official sources first — park authorities, transport operators, local councils and state tourism bodies — then cross-checked against operator information and recent visitor reports. We do not invent prices, statistics or reviews. Where a detail changes often (timetables, fees, opening hours, seasonal closures) we tell you to confirm it with the official source rather than printing a figure that may be out of date. Read our full editorial policy.
How the site is funded
Some pages link to tours on GetYourGuide. If you book through those links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We only feature tours that genuinely match the page you are reading — for example, a tour that departs from the city a page is about — and we label every commercial block. We are not paid to include or rank any business, and no operator reviews our content before it is published.
Independence
Discover North West Tasmania is not the official visitor centre and is not affiliated with any government tourism body, national park authority, council or tour operator. Names of parks, businesses and attractions are used only to describe them.
